There are two methods of logging out in the NetID Login Service - logging out of the service, "Log Out", or exiting an application, "Exit".
Applications like WiscMail, WiscCal, My WebSpace, and My UW now use "Log Out".
Using "Log Out" logs the user out of the NetID Login Service and prevents the user from being automatically logged into other, unvisited applications. It also prevents further use of WiscMail, WiscCal, My WebSpace, and My UW until you login again. This logout can also be accomplished by going to https://login.wisc.edu/logout.
Applications outside of those mentioned above may also have an "Exit" option.
In an application that uses "Exit", choosing this option logs you out of your your active session with that application only. It does not log you out of the NetID Login Service. You have one more step to actually logging out of the NetID Login Service, which is to click on "Log Out".
To ensure that you are logged completely out of any application that uses the NetID Login Service, do the following:
