WiscVPN (Win) - Connecting with the legacy WiscVPN Client


This document describes how to establish a connection to WiscVPN with the legacy VPN client software.

  1. Click on Start -> Program Files (or All Programs) -> Cisco Systems VPN Client -> VPN Client.

  2. The VPN Client will start. Your default connection entry should be highlighted. If it is not, or if you wish to change connection entries, Click a connection entry to highlight it.
    NOTE: When you are on campus, you should connect to the OnCampus Profile. When you are connecting from off campus, it is best to use the OffCampus profile. For a more technical description of why this is the best practice, please see WiscVPN - Split Tunneling
  3. Click Connect to initiate a connection to WiscVPN.

  4. Enter the NetID and password when prompted.

  5. After a successful connection, a "Welcome" screen will appear. Click Continue.

  6. To disconnect from WiscVPN, right-click on the VPN client icon in the Windows System Tray and select Disconnect.
