WiscVPN (Win NT/2000/XP) - Uninstalling the legacy VPN client


This document explains how to uninstall the legacy WiscVPN client on a Windows NT, 2000 or XP system.

Potential for data loss CAUTION: Please make sure your important data is backed-up on an external storage device (such as a CD, DVD, or external hard drive) before attempting this procedure. DoIT assumes no liability for data loss that occurs as a result of this procedure.
Windows 9x/2000
UNSUPPORTED
NOTE: Windows 95/98, Windows Me, and Windows 2000 are no longer supported by the Help Desk. We can only provide best effort support. If we are unable to resolve your Windows 9x/2000 issue, you may be able to find help at Microsoft's Windows 95 website, Windows 98 website, Windows ME website, or their Windows 2000 website. These products are no longer actively supported by Microsoft. No further development will take place on these products and security updates are no longer issued. It is highly recommended that you upgrade to Windows XP or Windows Vista.
  1. The client removal process can be started from either the Add/Remove Programs control panel or from the Start Menu.

  2. In Add/Remove, locate the VPN Client entry and click the Change/Remove button.

  3. In the Start Menu, navigate to Programs->Cisco Systems VPN Client and click Uninstall VPN Client.

  4. The removal process will start and ask you to confirm uninstallation. Click yes.

  5. The uninstall asks if you wish to remove profiles and certificates. Click yes to both questions.
