Safari - How to Delete Bookmarks

This document explains how to delete bookmarks in Safari.

Note: These instructions were create using Safari for Windows. However, they are applicable to Safari on the Mac.

1. Open Safari. On the far left side of the bookmarks bar, click the open-book icon.

   

2. The bookmark list appears. The left column shows collections like News and Sports, represented by folders. The right column shows individual bookmarks.

   

3. Select any bookmarks or collections you want to remove. Select Edit > Delete or right click and select Delete. If you change your mind, choose Edit > Undo Remove Bookmark.

   

4. Click on the open-book icon again to close the Bookmarks menu window.

The Bookmarks bar and Bookmarks menu can't be deleted.

Address Book (if present) and Bonjour can't be deleted, but you can remove them from the list by unselecting them in Bookmark preferences. History and All RSS Feeds can't be deleted, but you can delete individual bookmarks within them.
