WiscCal (iPhone/iPod Touch) - Configure Todo+Cal+Sync (SyncML Client)

This document explains how to configure Synthesis AG's Todo+Cal+Sync application for WiscCal.

Note: Todo+Cal+Sync is not free ($14.99 as of this writing). If you would like to make a departmental purchase of Todo+Cal+Sync for your iPhone/iPod Touch, it is suggested that you ask your supervisor to permit you to buy an iTunes gift card from the DoIT Tech Store using your department's DoIT Number.

Important: This application comes with its own calendar and ToDo list. The syncing process will sync this calendar and ToDo list with WiscCal. It will not sync the 'Calendar' application on the device with WiscCal. If you choose to sync contacts, they will be synced with the 'Contacts' application on the device. Configure ToDo+Cal+Sync as follows:

1. Purchase, download and install Todo+Cal+Sync from the iTunes App Store.
2. Start the Todo+Cal+Sync application and press the sync button .
3. Press Settings to configure the application.

   

4. Select the blue arrow to the right of Server Settings and enter the following information:
   • URL: https://syncml.wisccal.wisc.edu/ocst-bin/ocas.fcgi
   • User: your_netid
   • Password: your_netid_password
   Then select the Settings button in the upper left to return to the main settings screen.

   

5. If you wish to sync your WiscCal contacts with your iPhone/iPod Touch, select the blue arrow to the right of Contacts and enter the following information:
   • Server Path: ./Contacts
   Then select the Settings button in the upper left to return to the main settings screen.

   

6. To sync your WiscCal tasks, select the blue arrow to the right of Todos and enter the following information:
   • Server Path: ./Calendar/Tasks

     Note: This has a limit on how far in the past or future you can view events. Use the method below if you need to view events more than 30 days in the future.

   • Server Path: ./Calendar/Tasks?/dr(-30,60)
     (this one does 30 days in the past and 60 days in the future).
   Then select the Settings button in the upper left to return to the main settings screen.

   

7. To sync your WiscCal events (meetings), select the blue arrow to the right of Calendar and enter the following information:
   • Server Path: ./Calendar/Events

     Note: This has a limit on how far in the past or future you can view events. Use the method below if you need to view events more than 30 days in the future.

   • Server Path: ./Calendar/Events?/dr(-30,60)
     (this one does 30 days in the past and 60 days in the future).
   • Note: Date Range Limits should be turned off (date range is controlled by the Server Path as shown above)
   Then select the Settings button in the upper left to return to the main settings screen.

   

8. Todo+Cal+Sync is now configured and ready for Synchronization. Press the "Done" button in the upper left, and then press "Start Synchronisation" to begin syncing your WiscCal data to the device.

   

9. Press the checkmark button to view your Calendar and Todos.
