Problems may arise if Content topics are created from course files in "Manage Files" that have names that begin with a blank (a leading space).
If you try to create a topic (using "Create topics") from a file in "Manage Content" or "Manage Files" that is named with a leading space, possible problems are:
You receive the warning message "Note: This file cannot be located. Please replace the missing file in your course files or browse to a new file."
Attempting to view the topic later triggers a "File Not Found" (404) Error. The topic that was created is linked to a non-existent file with the leading space stripped from the file name.
This is a known issue.
To prevent these problems, do not name files with leading spaces. If either of these problems occurs, go to "Manage Files" in your course and rename the files, deleting the leading spaces. Verify that the topic link works properly, remaking the link if necessary.
