My WebSpace (Mac) - Group Directories: Configuring WebDAV using OS 10.4 and Later


This document describes how to connect to your Group Directories using a WebDAV connection on a Mac with OS 10.4 and later.

You can now connect directly to your My WebSpace account using WebDAV and your Macintosh with OS 10.4 and later, without having to use the Goliath client.

To set up your WebDAV connection, first click anywhere on the desktop, then select the Go menu, and then Connect to Server.

Go -> Connect to Server

Add the server https://mywebspace.wisc.edu/groups/dirname (where dirname is the Group Directory name).
NOTE: Make sure you include the 's' (https://) in the address!

You will then be prompted for your username and password. Please enter your UW Madison NetID and password.

When you have successfully logged in, a WebDAV icon (with groups underneath) will appear on your desktop and a window will open with your My WebSpace Group Directories.

You can now access these directory just as if it were located on your local drive.

To disconnect your WebDAV connection, just drag and drop the WebDAV icon to your trash.
