WiscCal (Web) - Access Rights

This document explains access rights (designate rights), and how to specify or change them in WiscCal via the web client.

'Access Rights' allow you to control what information is displayed to other users when they view your agenda or if you want someone else to work on your behalf (have change/modify rights to your agenda/calendar).

By default, times for entries in your agenda can be seen. When another user looks at your agenda, they see only blocks of time with no other information associated with the time block. By default you can be invited by other people to meetings, etc. These settings can be altered for all users (by choosing new settings with "Default: any unlisted user" selected). You may also add specific people to your access list and then give them individually the access rights you desire.

To view or change the 'Access Rights':

  1. Login to WiscCal with the specific user/role based account.
  2. Click on Edit Access Rights button - Edit Access Rights.
  3. Type the name of the user/role based account you wish to change access rights for and click Find. The search results will appear in the box below. If you have already altered the access rights for a person, their name should appear in the box without have to perform a search.
  4. Select the name of the user you wish to edit then click Edit Access Rights button. There are three areas you can modify a person's rights:
    Viewing
    Designate
    Scheduling

Note: if you do not see any options to change, then click on the Customize button.
