Using the KB

To many of you this system will be familiar as it is the same application that DoIT uses as an IT support resource for the campus. The Science Hall Knowledge Base (KB) is one hub of 40 on the system and allows Science Hall users to search our data base of IT solutions or the broader campus KB system. For more detailed information on the UW-Madison KB system see: About the UW KB

The Science Hall section of the Knowledge Base is configured to have Science Hall Computing links on the upper-left hand navigation bar, while DoIT and campus links on the lower-left hand navigation bar. Type your problem subject in the search box up top to see if there is a document on your topic. If none exists in Science Hall, the system may give you a link to look at documents on all campus KB sites. If you don't see the help you need, you can link to our IRM from this Science Hall KB page.

To request help from Science Hall Computing via the IRM, use the 'SHC Request Help' link on the upper-left hand navigation bar.

For guidance on whether to contact Science Hall Computing or DoIT or someone else for your question or problem, please read this KB article.
