WiscList - Logging into WiscList

This document explains how to log into the WiscList ListManager interface or discussion forum interface.

Safari Users: WiscList is only compatible with Safari 4. Any attempt to log into WiscList with older versions of Safari will fail.

There are two interfaces available to WiscList users.

ListManager Interface

The ListManager interface allows list and site administrators to manage their WiscList mailing lists. This is the most commonly used interface by WiscList users.

Logging into the WiscList ListManager Interface

1. Direct your web browser to the ListManager interface at https://lists.wisc.edu. You will receive a login prompt that looks similar to the figure below. Due to browser and operating system differences, your login prompt may look slightly different.
   
   
   
   
2. Under User Name, enter one of the following:
   
   
   1. If you are a site administrator, enter your site's name. This is the site name you chose when applying for a WiscList
      
      
   2. If you are a list administrator, enter your e-mail address. This must be the e-mail address with which you receive the list's mailings.
      
      
   Your user name is not your NetID.
   
   
3. Under Password, enter the password associated with your user name.
   
   
4. Click OK to login.
   
   

Discussion Forum Interface

If activated by a list administrator, the discussion forum interface allows list members to view and create list messages in a forum style, hold online conferences, and change list membership settings.

Logging into the Discussion Forum Interface

1. Point your browser to the WiscList service login page at http://www.doit.wisc.edu/lists/wisclist/login.asp.
   
   
2. Under List Members, enter the name of the list you'd like to view. The list name is the first part of the list's e-mail address, before the "@" sign. For example: if your list's e-mail address is mylist@lists.wisc.edu, your list name is mylist.
   
   
   
   
3. You will be prompted for your e-mail address. Enter the e-mail address with which you receive list messages and click ok.
   
   
   
   
4. Next, you will be prompted for your password. Enter your password and click ok.
