The Center for Leadership & Involvement (CFLI) registers and advises the over 950 student organizations/clubs on the Madison campus. Additionally, CFLI:
-Encourages promotion of student involvement on campus as an integral part of a UW education
-Facilitates registration of student organizations
-Supports the Wisconsin Band and the Wisconsin Singers
-Provides services, information, education, support and advising to assist with the development and strengthening of students and student groups
Student organizations may register by following the instructions on the website (the site also offers a complete listing and directory of all registered student organizations). Advising services for student organizations include: help with event planning, programming, publicity and promotion and access to electronic services (web pages, Listservs, etc.).
Specialized CFLI services include the Adventure Learning Program (ALPS) and the Student Leadership Program (SLP), which offer experiential workshops on leadership, team building, conflict resolution, funding, problem solving and a ropes course. Offices for these programs are located in the CFLI office, 3rd floor in the Red Gym.
It is also home to the Leadership Certificate Program, which is designed for student leaders who excel in their leadership roles both inside and outside the classroom and marks a formal acknowledgement of student contributions and achievements.
CFLI also publishes the Student Organization handbook, a guide to student organization policies, regulations and guidelines and sponsors the Student Organization Fair each Fall and Spring to assist with student organization membership recruitment.
