The University of Wisconsin Collection includes publications from the UW Archives, including magazines from as early as 1948, and the first 18-20 issues of the Badger yearbook. This is a text search to a collection of images, manuscripts, papers, and books all relating in some way to the university's mission.
Teachers, researchers, and curious citizens are encouraged to explore this collection on a continuing basis, as items are added regularly. This project was created by the Wisconsin Alumni Association and UW Libraries.
The University of Wisconsin Digital Collections Center has worked collaboratively with UW System faculty, staff, and librarians to create and provide access to digital resources that support the teaching and research needs of the UW community, uniquely document the university and State of Wisconsin, and provide access to rare or fragile items of broad research value.
Within these collections there are images, manuscripts, papers, and books, all relating in some way to the University's mission. Each record speaks its own truth; each highlights different people, places and accomplishments; each contributes a unique piece of the University of Wisconsin story.
The mission of this system is to develop human resources, to discover and disseminate knowledge, to extend knowledge and its application beyond the boundaries of its campuses, and to serve and stimulate society by developing in students heightened intellectual, cultural, and humane sensitivities; scientific, professional, and technological expertise; and a sense of purpose. Inherent in this mission are methods of instruction, research, extended education, and public service designed to educate people and improve the human condition. Basic to every purpose of the system is the search for truth.
