Departments can appoint/reappoint Research Associates between the minimum of the NRSA level and 120% of the NRSA level without additional justification.

- Rates greater than 120% of the NRSA minimum require justification and prior approval by Dean’s Office
- Rates greater than 133% of the NRSA level (maximum) require highly unique circumstances
