UW-Madison has enrolled in the Microsoft Enterprise Skills Initiative (ESI). Learning benefits in the program for faculty and staff include


  • Free Fundamentals training:

Foundational virtual training delivered by Microsoft Trainers intended for learners with nontechnical backgrounds that require more experience with cloud-based solutions and services

  • Free Advanced Role-based training:

Role-based, specialty, and migration instructor-led virtual training delivered by Microsoft Trainers

  • 100 Discounted Class Seats (DCS):

A comprehensive catalog of role-based, specialty, and migration instructor-led training delivered by Microsoft

  • Free Microsoft Virtual Training Day events:

Fundamentals training through virtual events that combine prerecorded presentations with live moderators supporting attendee questions

  • 500 Free Microsoft Certifications:

Industry-recognized certifications that validate technical knowledge and ability in industry job roles

  • Free Certification exam preparation:

Live online exam preparation sessions and office hours


We ask that you consume these benefits responsibly:


  • Use the ESI benefits in accordance with your department’s training policies and guidelines

  • Reserve training only if you are able to attend the full training, participate, and complete prerequisites

  • Cancel any training that you cannot attend, as seats are limited
