UW-Madison Box - Add UW-Madison Account as a Collaborator to Consumer Account Shared Content

This document explains how to make a UW-Madison account a collaborator of a consumer account's content when the consumer account is not the primary owner of the content.
  1. Click on the folder that you want to share, then select the Share button.

  2. Type in the UW-Madison email address that you want to make a collaborator.

    Note: You may not have permission to re-share the folder with other box accounts due to either your collaborator permission level or the folder settings. If this is the case, you will see a pop-up that states "You do not have permission to invite collaborators". You will need to contact the owner of the folder and request that they share the folder with your UW-Madison account instead.

  3. You should see a drop-down menu labeled Invite as Editor or Invite as Co-owner. There will be different options available depending on your account's collaborator status. Below are some of the options that you may see. You will want to choose the collaborator level that is the same as what is granted to your consumer account. For example: If you are currently an Editor, make your UW-Madison account an Editor, or if you are currently a Co-owner, make your UW-Madison account a Co-owner.

  4. Click Send.
