KB User's Guide - General Info - How to Hide Topic Breadcrumbs

NoteInformation symbol

You must have full administrative permissions in your space to perform these steps. This means access to the Documents, Settings, and Users tabs.

This document will explain how a KB Group Admin can hide topic breadcrumbs from view on their KB Live Site(s), either across your site or on a single KB document.

Topic Breadcrumbs are the links at the top of a document that display the topic paths associated with that document. They display above the document title, and the topic names act as links pointing to a search of all documents under that topic.

Topic breadcrumbs start with the text "Topics Map" followed by a greater than sign, then the topic name and any relevant child topics, each separated by a greater than sign. There will be multiple rows of topic breadcrumbs if the doc is assigned multiple topics
If needed, these breadcrumbs can be hidden from view.

Hiding topic breadcrumbs for your entire site

  1. In the KB Admin Tools, go to the Settings tab, then click Layout in the left side navigation.

Layout is the third link in the second link group of the secondary navigation under Settings
  2. Expand the Standard / Subpage Layout panel for your internal and/or external site.

    • If you already have a custom CSS field selected in the Custom CSS dropdown, add your new CSS to the field that corresponds to the one that is selected.

    • If Custom CSS is set to "None", add your new CSS to a blank field and select that field in the dropdown.

The Custom CSS dropdown should have a value selected that matches the CSS field below that you are using for your custom CSS. For example, if you are adding your custom CSS to the Custom CSS One field for your internal site, the Custom CSS dropdown should be set to Internal site custom CSS one.
  3. Paste the following CSS into the field you are using:

  4. Click the Update button at the bottom of the page to save your work.
