Theater group primarily engaged in experimental production. Broom Street Theater is the oldest experimental theater in the US. The plays are all by local Madison playwrights.
Reservations can be made by calling the theater at (608) 244-8338. You must be present at the theater prior to curtain; the doors are locked at when the performance begins. Performances start at 8 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and at 2 p.m. on Sunday. Doors open at 7:40 p.m. and 1:45 p.m.**All performances during the 50th anniversary season are "pay what you can." Therefore, no reservations will be taken. If you can fit in the theater, a seat will be found. "Comp you Neighbor" seats can be reserved for $22.
Workshops are also offered to BST members and non-members.

Broom Street Theatre is a non-profit, member-controlled theater located in Madison, Wisconsin. BST volunteers and staff foster artistic freedom, growth, and expression through non-traditional experimental and/or original artistic forms.
Broom Street Theatre's goals include creating high quality and unique theater through:
promoting communication, education, and entertainment challenging the cultural and intellectual assumptions of our audiences through unique and diverse productions
producing world premiere adaptations or original concepts of extant works
promoting and defending freedom of expression
supporting writer/directors’ visions of their own work without censorship
BST respects and facilitates community access by maintaining reasonable ticket prices and by welcoming community members to become active in the theater, rewarding hard work with rights accompanied by responsibilities.
