How to Wipe a Production iPad

Erase All Content and Settings on a Production iPad

When a Production iPad changes users, it needs to be reset. Follow the directions below to perform a reset.

  1. Confirm that all of the data you would like to keep has been saved elsewhere.
  2. Plug the iPad into power for the duration of the erase procedure.
  3. Go to Settings > General > Transfer or Reset iPad > Erase All Content and Settings, then tap Continue.
  4. When prompted, select Erase iPad.
  5. The iPad will show a loading bar to indicate erase progress, and will restart after the erase is complete.
  6. After the erase is complete, the iPad will display the welcome screen. Swipe up from the bottom of the screen.
  7. Select English as the language.
  8. Select United States as the country.
  9. Click Continue on the Appearance screen.
  10. Select Set Up Without Another Device when prompted to Quickly Set Up iPad.
  11. Choose UWNet as the Wi-fi Network.
  12. Click Enroll this iPad.

The iPad will then begin configuration. App installations may take some time to complete, dependent on network speed and bandwidth. After the iPad is enrolled, open the Settings app. Navigate to Privacy & Security > Location Services and turn on Location Services, as shown in the screenshots below. This will allow the iPad to have the time set correctly.
