Elvehjem L160 Quick Reference Guide

How to operate the A/V system in Elvehjem L160.

Getting Started

Powering on the System

Plug a laptop into the provided HDMI connection and turn the laptop on. As soon as the system detects laptop video signal it will automatically power on and switch to the laptop input.

    OR

Touch the touch panel to wake it and then touch the screen to start as prompted:

    Source Selection:

    Source selection menu

At the top of the Main Menu is the source selection menu. The currently selected source will be highlighted. When a source is selected, additional controls and/or information will be displayed for the selected source. Example below shows the Blu-Ray controls for when the Blu-Ray source is selected.

Cynap: The Cynap is a wireless presentation device, allowing you to Miracast, vSolution, or AirPlay to it. To connect through those means, you must be connected to campus wifi (UWNet). You would then follow instructions based on the device you are connecting from. Note: Connecting via HDMI will be more reliable and offer better picture quality.

    Volume Controls

Program Volume: On the left side of the main menu is the Program Volume control. This controls how loud the volume is of audio from the selected source. There is also a mute option.

Mic Volume: On the right side of the main menu is the Mic Volume control. This controls the overall loudness of all microphones being used. There is also a mute option.

    Powering Off the System

To power off the system, press the power icon in the upper right of the Main Menu. You will then be prompted to confirm if you wish to Shutdown System or Return to Main Menu, as shown below. Powering off the system mutes all microphones and shuts down the projector. The shutdown process also resets all volume controls and video routing to their baseline.

    Buttons

Projector Mute: This does not shut down the projector and simply toggles on/off the projector from displaying any images. This is useful if you wish to prepare content before sharing it with the audience, while already having the system powered on. If the projector is muted, this button will be highlighted.

Projector Power: This will toggle on/off power for the projector. Powering the projector on/off requires warm-up and cool-down time. If the projector is on, this button will be highlighted in blue. This can also be used to confirm that the projector is operational.

Lecture Capture Mute: This, like projector mute, does not shut down the projector, nor does it stop content from being projected. Lecture Capture Mute is used to stop video signal from the projection system from running to the lecture capture system. When Lecture Capture Mute is enabled, it also disables HDCP for the laptop input, allowing users to project HDCP encrypted content in the room.

    Additional Volume Controls

The volume controls here control the gain (input volume) from the individual microphones going into the A/V system—handheld wireless, bodypack wireless, and podium. This allows you to adjust volume for different people using different microphones on a more granular level. Ex: Somebody using the handheld microphone is quieter than somebody using the bodypack microphone. This menu allows you to add volume to the handheld microphone.

The aux input is not connected to anything by default. Please contact Technical Support if you have interest in using the auxiliary input.

    Microphones

    MicrophonesPodium Mic

All three microphones can be used simultaneously. However, it is recommended to not have a bodypack mic on yourself while also standing in front of the podium mic. The podium mic can be powered on/off by the highlighted gray switch. The green light will be on if the podium mic is on.

The wireless microphones have on/off switches as well. The screens on the wireless microphones will light up when the wireless mics are turned on.

Please return the wireless microphones to the Charging Base after use.
