Guidelines for video/photoshoot participants

Guidelines for participants in photoshoots for the School of Human Ecology marketing materials.

Thank you for agreeing to participate in this marketing video/photoshoot! We really appreciate your contribution to the School of Human Ecology. In order to represent the school to the best of our ability, here are a few “Do’s and Dont’s” to consider when choosing what to wear.

Do:

  • Wear clothing that you feel yourself in.
    • Focus on being comfortable, but be conscious not to wear overly casual or revealing clothing.

  • Bring your backpack, laptop, and other materials you would normally bring to class.
    • We want the shoot to be as authentic as possible!

  • Wear plain, solid colors or simple patterns.

  • Wear UW–Madison branded clothing. It is never a bad idea to promote Bucky!

  • Wear layers or bring options of items to change into.
    • If you are feeling doubtful about an outfit choice, don’t hesitate to bring another option!

Don't:

  • Don’t wear anything you wouldn’t wear to a job interview, including clothing that shows a lot of skin.
    • Dressing business casual is never a bad idea!

  • Don’t wear loungewear or clothing that makes you look like you just woke up or went to the gym.
    • This includes sweatpants, tight leggings, ripped clothing, athleisure, worn-out clothing, etc. We want you to put your best foot forward!

  • Don’t wear clothing with any large, obvious branding or the logo or name of other schools.
    • We don’t want to represent anybody but UW–Madison!

  • Don’t wear clothing with small, intricate patterns, as these can often photograph oddly.
