Student accessibility and usability barriers

The following information is provided to help people with disabilities know what potential barriers may exist.

Screen reader accessibility barriers may impact users who are blind or have low vision

Some state changes, such as a menu or sidebar opening, are not announced to the user, and some of the images in the site lack useful alt text, which may make navigation difficult for users who are blind or have low vision and using a screen reader.

Keyboard navigation barriers may impact users with motor disabilities

Some of the action buttons in the activity to create new Kudoboards are skipped in the tab order, and it is sometimes unclear what the click action will be on other interactive elements. This may pose barriers for users who navigate via keyboard only.

Color contrast barriers may impact people with low vision or who are colorblind

Some of the colors used for labels, text, and other UI elements on the page do not pass the WCAG standards for contrast which may pose a barrier for people who are colorblind or have low vision.
