Installing the Nelson Room 78 Copier
How to install the Nelson Copier in Room 78
Begin by making sure you are connected to the VPN.
Once you are connected, download the appropriate driver for your computer and unzip to a folder (preferably on your desktop, where you can find it again soon).
Windows:
To add the printer in Windows, click on the Start menu, click on the Gear Icon
, and click on Devices
.

Click on Printers and scanners and click on the + sign to Add a printer or scanner.

After a few moments, at the bottom of the printers list you will see a link that says The printer that I want isn't listed. Click that link.

On the next screen that pops up, click on Add a printer using a TCP/IP address or hostname and click Next.

On the following screen, leave Device type as Autodetect.
In the Hostname or IP address: box, type in (or copy/paste) 144.92.235.93. The Port name will likely the same but it is OK if it has a suffix such as _1 or _2, and so on. It just means that there was a printer on that IP address before installed on your computer.
Lastly, uncheck the box to Query the printer and automatically select the driver to use to speed things up.
It will take a few moments to contact the printer. Then, on the Install the printer driver screen, click on Have Disk... and browse to the location where you unzipped the printer driver you downloaded earlier, then click Open.

Click OK, then Next to select the Canon Generic Plus UFR II printer. Then click Next.

For the Printer name, use something memorable, aka Nelson Copier Room 78 or something. Then click Next.

Once done installing, check the button next to Do not share this printer and click Next.

Uncheck the box to Set as the default printer and click Finish. You have now installed the printer.
macOS/OS X:
Unzip the driver file you downloaded. Then, double-click on the PS_v4.17.9_Mac.dmg file to open the macOX Disk Image file.

Click Continue, Continue, Agree, and Install to get to the installer. If necessary, login with your laptop's username and password to complete the installation.

After a few moments the software will install the necessary printer driver. When done, click Close. You can move the files to the trash when done.
From the Apple Menu open System Preferences

Click on Printers & Scanners, then click on the + to add a printer.

Click on the Globe-looking icon in the middle.

On the Add Printer screen use the following information:
Address: 144.92.235.93
Protocol: Line Printer Daemon - LPD
Queue: Leave blank
Name: Nelson Copier (or something memorable for you)
Location: Room 78
Under the Use: option click Select Software...
On the screen that pops up, filter for C58 and choose the option that says Canon iR-ADV C5840/5850 PS and click Ok.
