Azure Labs Student Access

Azure Labs Student Access for WSB classes

Activating Your Account:

You will receive an email from Microsoft Azure azure-noreply@microsoft.com.

Click the large blue button to "Register for the lab" in the invitation email.

Log in with your netid@wisc.edu as the username and no password.

This will redirect you to the UW-Madison login page where you can log in with your NETID credentials.

You should now be able to see your lab.

Connecting to your virtual computer:

Navigate to https://labs.azure.com/virtualmachines (assuming you already activated your account).

Toggle the switch in the lower left to start your system. (Note: it takes approximately 2 to 5 minutes for the system to turn on)

Click the computer icon on the right to download and open an RDP (Microsoft Remote Desktop) file.  Windows users can open this file by default.  Mac users will have to download Microsoft Remote Desktop from the app store. https://apps.apple.com/us/app/microsoft-remote-desktop/id1295203466?mt=12

After opening the RDP file you will be prompted for a password.  Type in Grainger123 and press enter.

Note: Microsoft Office is not licensed by default on these systems.  You have to license it with your netid@wisc.edu email address.
