EMS Desktop Client - Outlook Configuration
This document covers how to setup EMS to send from Outlook. Email sent through Outlook will not be recorded in EMS. Outlook sent folder should be used for auditing of all previously sent confirmations and emails.
Setup Service Account in Outlook
Outlook will need to be configured this way on all workstations needing to email from the service account.
- Open Outlook
- Go to File
- Add account
- Type the Email address of the service account
- Netid login Username should take this form email_domain (e.g. EMS-Notify_Doit) The password is the password of the service account.
- Login, ensure Account successfully added.
If you wish for the default Send account is the service account
- Go to File
- Click Account Settings -> Manage Profiles
- Select Email Accounts
- Select the Service Account and click Set As Default
Now any new emails will default to having the Service account as the From address.
Setup EMS to use Outlook for Email
- Open EMS
- For Personal settings
- Go to Settings -> Preferences
- Uncheck Use Global Settings if checked
- Check Use Microsoft Outlook
- For Global Settings
- Go to System Administration -> Settings -> Email Settings
- Select Use Microsoft Outlook Only
- Go to System Administration -> Settings -> Email Settings
EMS Email Using Microsoft Outlook
- Open EMS
- Click the Email button will create a generic Outlook new mail window
- For Confirmations
- Navigate to a Reservation
- Open Revervation/Booking Summary
- Select Confirmation
- Setup Confirmation template settings
- Click Email
- Outlook new mail window with the generated Confirmation template
- Check that From address is correct, can be change in the from drop down if not.
- Send
