Biochemistry Device Naming Convention
This document describes how to determine the computer name for new machines.
All Biochemistry device names should conform to the following format:
BIOCAA-BBBBBC
- AA (Asset Type):
- WK (workstation)
- NB (notebook/laptop)
- VH (virtual host)
- SV (server)
- PR (printer)
- BBBBB (Asset Number): use leading zeros if necessary, must be five digits long
- C (Operating System):
- M (MacOS)
- W (Windows)
- L (Linux)
- Note: printers have no operating system suffix
