Biochemistry IT and MediaLab offer some equipment for checkout.  This equipment is intended for short-term use for things like presentations, a short trip, etc.  The laptops and projectors may be reserved for a maximum of three days at a time and are not intended for long-term usage.  DoIT has computers, projectors and 4G modems/hostpots available as part of a Rental Service if you need a computer or projector for longer than three days.

Checkout of these resources is only available for members of the Biochemistry Department.  You will be required to present your UW ID to checkout any equipment.

Audio Recorders

Two audio recorders are available for capturing lectures, etc. The audio recorders are made available on a first come, first serve basis. Please be sure to return the audio recorders as soon as you are finished with them so that the audio can be transferred off them and they can be made available for the next user.

Laptops

Three Apple laptops are available for checkout.  These computers are configured to boot both macOS and Windows.  They also come with the adapters to connect to most projectors or monitors and an adapter to connect to an Ethernet port.

You are strongly encouraged to open a Job Board ticket and request a reservation if you will need a laptop.  All three devices are regularly in use.

Presentation Kits

Three presentation kits are available and each contains a laser pointer and four of the most commonly needed adapters for connecting to the projectors on campus.  The presentation kits are made available on a first come, first serve basis.  Please be sure to return the presentation kits as soon as you are finished with them so that others may use them as well.

Projectors

Two projectors are available for checkout.  You are strongly encourage to open a Job Board ticket and request a reservation if you will need a projector.
