L&S Curriculum Committee

The L&S Curriculum Committee serves as the college-level committee on curricular issues such as courses, academic programs requirements, and college-wide curricular concerns, as well as advise the Dean on current curricular issues in the college. This includes:
  • Reviewing proposals to add, change, or discontinue L&S courses; and to add or change breadth, level, or other designations
  • Reviewing proposals to change program requirements, and providing advice to the L&S APC on requirements for new programs
  • Overall consideration of the integrity of the undergraduate degree requirements
  • Other issues related to undergraduate education, such as issues related to academic policies and undergraduate degree requirements

Meetings 

The College of Letters & Science Curriculum Committee typically meets the second and fourth Tuesday of the month during Fall and Spring terms, 1-2:30. The committee does not meet over the summer.

Deadlines: Proposals or other materials must be submitted at least 12 days before a meeting. In addition, there are annual deadlines for program and course changes L&S Deadlines for Course and Program Changes

Faculty members are appointed from each of the major divisions in the College, as well as an instructional staff member and academic advisor staff member. Ex-officio members are appointed by the Dean from L&S TLA and L&S SAA. ASM also appoints two L&S students to the committee.
