Biochemistry Printer Purchasing Guidelines
General Notes and Considerations
- Purchase HP printers for consistency throughout the department (same or similar toner, interface, administration, support, etc)
- Many labs will want multi-function printers, which include scanning and faxing functions
- In larger volume settings (large lab, office, etc), look for more powerful printers
- Larger paper capacity
- More functionality
- Limit number of printers...
- One per lab
- One in each shared space
General Printer Feature Suggestions for Biochemistry Labs
- Duplexing
- Ethernet Networking (not Wireless)
- LaserJet technology (not InkJet)
- Color Printing (generally recommended)
- Minimum 250 page tray capacity
