Access Microsoft Office 365 apps through a Web Browser

These is the browser-based version of Microsoft Office that is a great alternative to installing the desktop version of Microsoft Office. Because it is web-based, it works for Mac and Linux operating systems.

Microsoft Office 365 Online applications accessible online:

  • OneDrive, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, SharePoint, Teams, Sway, Forms, Calendar, Engage, Stream, Visio, To Do, Project, Whiteboard, Lists, SharePoint, Power Automate, Planner.

How to access these applications:

  1. Navigate to mail.wisc.edu and log in using your NetID and password (NOT your CAE credentials).
  2. Click the three by three square of dots in the top left corner of the webpage.

3. Select the application you intend to use. You can click on "Explore all your Apps" to see more options.

4. Once you have selected an app, it will open in your web browser. Note the apps under "Other apps" are not Microsoft products and may not open in your browser.

At the top and bottem are Microsoft applications, in the middle are other useful applications.
