Biorender Group License Request Canned Message

Created by John Galli, last modified on May 02, 2023

Hello Lab P.I.,

When creating your lab license for Biorender, we recommend using a service account for the email address.  This is a “shared” email account provided by campus.

  • A service account uses an @wisc.edu based email address so that we know it is tied with the University rather than a public entity (such as gmail)

  • The service account can be managed by multiple lab members so that if someone leaves, the account information and emails do not leave with them

  • The service account gives easy access to the Biorender software for shared use with account credentials that each lab member can know (versus someone’s private credentials)

  • In Microsoft Outlook or Webmail, the service account when linked shows up as a separate email address so that multiple lab members can check any emails there (login, verification, department or billing changes, etc)

Please also note that Biorender does not require any software installation.  The software is fully web-based and only ONE person can be logged in with each account at a time.

For more information on how a service account works, see here:  https://kb.wisc.edu/microsoft365/page.php?id=40106

Let us know how you would like to proceed, thank you
