Morphic Application and User Guide

Morphic is an app that is downloaded on the autologin computers at UW-Madison Libraries that assist with accessibility issues.

What is Morphic?

  • Morphic is an application that makes computers easier to use by giving shortcuts to accessibility features. 

Morphic ToolBar

Morphic’s Featured Buttons 

  • Text Size
    • Plus button - increases the size of the text on the whole screen, not just the page. Nothing will go off screen while using this feature. 
    • Minus button - decreases  the size of the text on the whole screen, not just the page.
  • Magnifier
    • Show button - allows the mouse to act as a magnifier for the section of the screen they have located. Note, while this feature is on, the mouse still functions normally.
    • Hide button - This disables the magnifier. 
  • Snip
    • Copy button - Allows you to take a screenshot and then are able to paste that image.
  • Read Selected
    • Play button - Highlight desired text (in any application or website) using the mouse, then select the “Play” button and Morphic reads the text to you. 
    • Pause button - Pause and or stop the read function.
  • Contrast & Color
    • Contrast button - One click turns on contrast for the full screen which makes the text easier to read. Second click turns the contrast off. 
    • Color button - One click can change the color of the screen to help patrons with colorblindness. Second click turns this feature off. 
      • Right-click the color button to change the type of colorblindness.
    • Dark button - One click turns on dark mode, but only some sections of the screen have higher contrast. Second click turns this feature off.
    • Night button - Helps reduce eye strain by changing the screen from having a harsh glow.

UW-Madison Libraries Special Features 

  • My UW Portal 
    • Opens the My UW Portal with just one click.
  • USB Drives (All)
    • Open button - Opens the USB drive that is put into the computer.
    • Eject - Allows you to eject the USB drive in one click.
