College Library Viewing Stations - DVD & Blu-ray User Guide

Here are detailed instructions on how to use the DVD & Blu-ray viewing station computer at College Library.
  1. Login to the computer with your NetID and password. 
  2. On the external DVD & Blu-ray player, click the button located on the bottom right corner to open the slot for the optical disc. Click the button again to close it.
  3. On the computer in the lower left hand corner of the desktop, look for the icon of a DVD. Double click on the DVD icon that is named “Play Movie”. Pictured below.

  4. A screen will appear with a traffic cone, wait a few seconds and the optical disc will start playing. Pictured below.

  5. Use the mouse to select play as well as add subtitles/captions if desired from the media's play menu.
  6. Right click anywhere within the VLC window and hover over “Audio” then move over to hover over “Audio Device” then select “Speakers, Headphones (Realtek(R) Audio)” as pictured below.

  7. This computer is set up with Bluetooth capabilities. To connect to Bluetooth, go to the lower right corner of the desktop, select the Bluetooth icon and then click “Add a device”.

  8. When the optical disc is needed to be removed, click the button on the external DVD/Blu-ray player to open the optical disc slot, then click it again to close the slot.
