Tips for Shopping - Generating Orders
- Use Flowchart (pg 31 of the ShopUW Quick Reference Guide) to choose most appropriate process.
- Use a helpful cart name when creating a cart. Include who it's for, what it is... that makes it easier to find later and search for.
- On the funding string search screen, you can "favorite" funding strings to have a set of them you use frequently, using the little heart in the bottom right
- Add Comments before Assigning Cart:
- Project or funding string associated with the order
- Business Purpose or summary of:
- What was purchased (in a general sense, for example, "supplies")
- Why it was purchased (for example, "to create study take home binders")
- How it is essential to the University (for example, "for human subject participants in NIH funded study)
- Software/Cloud application or service/app:
- You must check to see if DoIT can offer the software (retain documentation that they cannot as justification for your purchase)
- If not available through DoIT, submit a Risk Review form to triage the purchasing request to determine if a full risk assessment is needed by the Office of Cybersecurity.
- See the Cybersecurity KB page for a list of products that have already undergone Cybersecurity review.
