Inventory - Status Fields
Information about the Status and Status Date fields included in annual computer inventory reports.
- Active: The computer is visible in TechZone management applications. The date for this status indicates the most recent check-in time at the time of the report.
- In Storage: The computer is currently in storage in the location indicated by Room and Bldg.
- Lost: The computer was never turned in for SWAP and is either no longer in use or in use but not recoverable. The TechZone will work with units to attempt recovery prior to declaring a device lost.
- SWAP: The computer has been picked up for SWAP.
- SWAP Prep: The computer has been prepared for SWAP in the TechZone but not yet picked up. This status is solely for internal TechZone tracking; departments may consider it equivalent to SWAP.
- Transferred: Ownership of the computer has been transferred to another entity. This could be another UW department or, in rare cases, another institution or an individual.
- Unknown: As far as we know, the computer is still in use but is not visible in TechZone management applications.
