GlobalProtect - Add the smphaf.vpn.wisc.edu portal - Windows OS

Instructions for students, attempting to access Health Link, that are in more than one SMPH VPN access group. They will need to connect to a different portal, than the typical smph.vpn.wisc.edu one.

  • Open the GlobalProtect client.

  • Select the three bar menu (upper right corner), and choose Settings

  • In the Settings window, within the General tab, click the Add button, type in the following portal address: smphaf.vpn.wisc.edu, then click Save

  • Close the Settings window, then re-open GlobalProtect.

  • If you have more than one portal listed in GlobalProtect, choose smphaf.vpn.wisc.edu from the drop down menu.

  • Double check that you have the correct portal, and sign in via NetID.

  • Enter the number ‘1’ and click the Sign In button to initiate a DUO push.

  • After accepting the DUO push from your device, you should be connected.

NOTE:  Health Link users - If after connecting to the VPN (via GlobalProtect) you are not able to load web pages (no internet traffic) then likely your computer has not been fully enrolled in Workspace ONE.  There can be a delay before all the pieces (from Workspace ONE) are in place, and ready for the Citrix login.  Please be patient.
