Vilas Hall is unlocked Monday through Saturday 7am - 11pm. During the hours when the building is locked all faculty, staff, and graduate students can gain access using their WisCard ID. There are card readers in two locations.

The first location is at the third floor entrance at Park Street and University Avenue, up the ramp near the Comm Arts IMC. The card read is on the accessible entrance button pedestal.

The second location is on the east campus mall side of the building near the entrance to the Hemsley Theatre. The card reader is next to the accessible door opener to the right of the building doors. This entrance opens to the theater area. Walk straight back until you are in the scenery studio area, turn right, then left and you will be near the Journalism Reading Room.
