Nmrfam offers several ways to share data, depending on the usage and the service tier chosen by the user.

The main methods are as follows:

  1. Via NAN
    • NAN is the Network for Advanced NMR (Nuclear Magnetic Resonance), providing distributed services from the Universities of Connecticut, Georgia, and Wisconsin to democratize the application of high-field NMR spectroscopy for applications in biomedicine, materials science, and chemistry.
    • To have your data automatically transmitted to NAN, you must first create an account.
      • Go to: https://usnan.nmrhub.org/home and click on NMRHUB on top of the screen, and than Register. Just Proceed following the instructions.
      • After creating an NMRHUB account, you must provide your user when scheduled time on the spectrometer.
    • If one of the staff members are collecting the data for you, ignore this next step.
    • If you are running the spectrometer by yourself, Make sure NDTS is Turn on to harvest and you user is selected.
      • After the experiment is over the data will be automatically transfer to you data browser.
      • To access the data Browser go to https://usnan.nmrhub.org/home
        • Login with you account and go to the Dashboard. On the left side select Data Browser and Dataset.
        • You Data should be listed there, you can select one or more experiments and right click to select the format of the download.
  2. Via Globus
    • Globus is a powerful tool that allow you share data on your storage systems with collaborators at other institutions.

        • Go to General and select your user, inside that directory you should have one folder for each spectrometer you ever use, you data is inside there.
      4. At the other side select your group Globus Endpoint or your Personal Endpoint( If you dont have a Personal Endpoint HERE is how to install)
      5. To transfer your data, select one or more experiments on the NMRFAM side and choose the destination directory on your collection side. Then, click 'Start' on the NMRFAM side (with the arrow indicating the data transfer direction).
      6. At the left side on Activity you can check the progress of your transfer.
  3. Via Mount point with Shared Drive
    • This is only available with previous authorization and for long term collaborations.
    • If you was instructed to follow this path, that what you should do:

      2. After setup you NETID, make sure you are connect to the biochem vpn (if you dont know how use THIS Just remeber, instead use uwmadison.vpn.wisc.edu you have to use biochem.vpn.wisc.edu)
      3. Follow THIS instructions(or HERE for Linux) to mount the shared drive in your computer, But at the address use //biochem.drive.wisc.edu/nmrfam/
      4. Once mounted you can get your data inside General and your user or when you was instructed to access.
