Welcome to the CDL Policy Handbook

Welcome

On behalf of our Child Development Lab, I’d like to welcome you to our center! We are proud of our program and the many ways we serve our children, families, students, and communities.

The Child Development Lab is part of the School of Human Ecology and a laboratory school where we pave the way with learning opportunities for UW Students as well as provide a space for research. We strive for excellence as we provide high quality care using Anti-Bias and Inquiry curriculum in our classrooms.

This handbook is designed to inform about the inner workings of our program, the guidelines of how we work through our policies and procedures and to be a resource for more information about your place at the UW. These policies, procedures, and operations of the school are reviewed annually and as changes arise through licensing or accreditation by the Director with the recommendations of the Parent Advisory Committee, the Leadership Team, the Administration Team, and Reflective Practice groups that meet regularly.²
