Overview

This document is relevant only for the updated Advising Gateway application, available at https://www.advising-gateway.wisc.edu. For assistance with the other version of Advising Gateway, which will no longer be available here after January 1, 2025, please see this KnowledgeBase document.

The Advising Gateway is a web application that provides authorized users with the ability to either get, or get to key student record information that might be needed when working with students. Student record data accessible via the Advising Gateway are classified as “Restricted” and are subject to the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).
