   Dann  Petersen  shares the School of Music's exciting updates, including a redesigned recruiting booth, new videos, and a top-secret virtual tour project for the Hamel Music Center. The school is transitioning to a more active recruiting process, capturing student data on site and aiming for seamless engagement through the application process. Liz Root expresses interest in the virtual reality tour and plans to connect with Dann about it.
   
   Robin Fisher provides updates on theater activities, including ticket availability for Wine in the Wilderness, tour requests, and student applications. Deborah A Griffin discusses the growth in the incoming BLA cohort and the temporary studio space for students in the Department of Planning and Landscape Architecture.
   
   Patrick Jackson presents the new Design, Innovation, and Society major in the School of Human Ecology, emphasizing its potential to provide opportunities for students who may not get into the Interior Architecture program. He also discusses partnerships with OMAI and First Wave, as well as efforts to register student organizations with the school for professional development and recruitment purposes.
   
   Becky Buckman discusses the progress of the Accelerated Masters in Arts and Creative Enterprise Leadership program, emphasizing the efforts to attract more students and the recent outreach to liberal arts colleges in Wisconsin. She also mentions the need to educate students about the career opportunities in arts administration.
   
   Karen Mchshane-Hellenbrand provided an update on their upcoming travel to Norfolk, Virginia for auditions and recruitment at the Regional High School Dance Festival, emphasizing the application period and the addition of an early audition date. They also discussed the expansion of virtual audition options, citing the necessity during the pandemic and the positive impact on attracting students from various locations. Karen discusses the current recruitment activities, including visits from admitted students and juniors seeking information. Teddy provides updates on the art department's recruitment for the grad program, including the number of admitted students.
   
   Rachel shares details about Your UW Day and will share attendance numbers with the School of Education and School of Human Ecology. Liz  informs about the transition of a staff member in the Art Department, Mercedes Brandt.

2. Admissions updates

   1. 1. Fall 2024 deposit deadline moved to May 15th due to the delayed FAFSA

      2. Wisconsin Guaranteed Admissions Program

   Liz Root discusses admissions updates, including changes to the deposit deadline and a new guaranteed admissions program for Wisconsin high school students, emphasizing the holistic application process. André Phillips reiterates that the admissions process is holistic and that the Office of Admissions and Recruitment will continue to provide messaging to our recruitment partners, particularly as they go to spaces around the state to share with students or their families to best support them.

3. Admitted Student Day for the Arts - April 5, 2025, Gordon Dining and Event Center
   
   Liz Root outlines the details for an admitted student day for the arts, such as the date, location, and proposed activities. She emphasizes the importance of student engagement and suggests involving alumni and current students in the event. The programming will be fully supported by the Office of Admissions and Recruitment, and will include a light breakfast and lunch. Ideas for the day include a student panel, performances/displaying student work, information about career services, and a tour of The Studio. Additionally, Liz mentions the need for a subcommittee to assist with the planning.
   
   Rachel Tatge highlights the technical limitations at Gordon and advises managing expectations for performances. Liz Root supports the idea of keeping performances simple, and Robin Fisher shares positive feedback from a previous event and suggests low-tech student performances. The discussion ends with Liz inviting ideas for student performances in the space, and planning for the event will need to be finalized by November 2024 to ensure that communication procedures are in place.
