Cayosoft User Enrollment Process for Entra MFA

Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) for Wisconsin Identity Access Management (IAM) / CayoSoft Accounts

Starting March 25, 2025, Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) will be required to access Wisconsin Identity Access Management (IAM) or CayoSoft accounts. This security measure is being implemented to enhance the protection of user accounts.

UW Madison users primarily use this account to access these services: 

Users need to enroll in Multi-factor Authentication (MFA) using the Microsoft Authenticator application via an iOS or Android device using the Microsoft Authenticator application by following these steps: 

Before you begin please download the Microsoft Authenticator mobile application on your smartphone:

#1: On any computer (not from your smartphone) open a private browser (incognito mode) and go to https://aka.ms/mfasetup

#2: Sign-in to your account and using your current IAM login used to access Cayosoft followed by “@wisconsin.gov” and click next.

What should I do if I forget my Password or My account is locked? Click the relevant link on the login page and after entering your IAM User ID, you will be prompted to answer your recovery questions correctly, you will then be able to create a new password. 

What should I do if I forget my User ID?  Email security.authorizations@doit.wisc.edu to request help recovering your User ID. 

#3: Click Next to Enroll in MFA.

#4: Open the Microsoft Authenticator App on your smartphone from the appropriate app store (Google Play or Apple App Store). Make sure to allow the Authenticator app to be able to access your camera in your smartphone permissions to allow scanning of the QR code that will be required.

#5: On your smartphone, tap Add Account and select Work or School account to open the QR code Screen on your smartphone and click Next on the browser page.

#6: Hold your phone’s camera up to the screen to scan the QR code. (This code is only valid for 30 seconds, if it expires before you scan it, select the Back button to generate a new QR code) On the Microsoft Authenticator Application, it should quickly register the account. Then click Next.

You will get a prompt on your smartphone via the Microsoft Authenticator app to approve the login.

#7: After approving the login, you will see the following screen:

Click next. This should complete your setup. 

You are now enrolled in MFA for connecting to Cayosoft!
