Please explicitly inform the DoIT Event Management and Monitoring Team monitoring@doit.wisc.edu when it is time to remove a monitor. This may be done by simply ccing us on object decommission requests, where appropriate. 

We do not make the assumption that a given monitor may be deleted, based on its status. 

Event Management and Monitoring Team does receive automated notification of server decommissions. 

Event Management and Monitoring is part of DoIT Service Transition and receive information submitted to that process. When a monitored service is submitted for decommission, please note the timeline for decommission of associated monitors within the submission. In many cases, monitored objects and processes outlive their services by months or years.
