Submitting private events to group pages on it.wisc.edu

If you want a private event to appear on your group web page on it.wisc.edu, email your event details to DoIT Communications. We will create the event to ensure it appears on your IT Connects group page while maintaining your privacy settings.

Why can't I find my event?

It can take anywhere from 15 minutes to a few hours for new and updated events to appear in the today.wisc.edu feed and on event widgets on other wisc.edu websites. Here are some factors that could delay your event from appearing on your site.

  • Browser cache: Your browser cache may prevent you from being able to see live changes. Try clearing your cache.
  • Server caching: The today.wisc.edu server cache clears every 15 minutes. WiscWeb websites can have caching delays up to 30 minutes.
  • Moderation step: The Strategic Communication office reviews event submissions and edits before allowing them to appear in public feeds. The office has a list of communicators who are allowed to bypass moderation. Email web.strategiccommunication@wisc.edu to inquire about being added to the list.
