About Recruitment

This page shares more details about how recruitment services support PDC outcomes.

The recruitment team is part of the Adult Career and Special Student Services (ACSSS) unit in the Division of Continuing Studies and provides recruitment services to PDC programs and beyond. The team is focused on getting prospective students into programs that meet their educational, professional, and personal goals. They help determine which program is right for them, assist with application materials, and share other resources, such as information related to financial aid.

The recruitment team helps programs meet enrollment goals while ensuring prospective students find a program that meets their academic and career aspirations.

Our recruitment services are:

  • Marketing-initiated
  • Student-centered
  • Individualized
  • Designed to help prospective students navigate UW–Madison's complexity
  • Comprehensive and continue until the student enrolls
  • In collaboration with our program partners (i.e., you)

PDC Recruitment Team

The PDC recruitment team includes the director of recruitment strategies, associate director of recruitment strategies, associate director of recruitment strategies - recruitment campaigns, and enrollment coaches. Check out the PDC Organizational Chart to see how the recruitment team fits into the PDC process/team.

The PDC recruitment team partners with select PDC programs — focusing on those with high growth potential that receive IMC marketing support or invest in their own marketing efforts — to coordinate, develop, and implement recruitment strategies and services. Programs with dedicated recruitment services work with our enrollment coaches, who work directly with prospective students by helping them navigate their academic options, understand eligibility requirements, and provide application support. The team also provides recruitment consultations with PDC programs that do not receive program-specific support.

When Does Recruitment Get Involved?

Recruitment begins when a student raises their hand. This means they fill in a request for information (RFI) form, give us a call, send us an email, text us, or start the application. Recruitment also generates leads through events. We may connect with them at a recruitment fair or they might join us for an online event, such as a webinar. Regardless, we aim to engage all leads within 24 hours and stay engaged until the prospective student withdraws interest or enrolls in a program. We do not cold call. Everyone we call has provided their number and requested we reach out. Our job is to qualify every lead and ensure they are a good fit for your program. If they are not, we will try to help them find a program more suited to their interests — even if that program is not at UW–Madison.
