DoIT Internal Operations - Ricoh Copy & Print Machines

This document explains how staff within the Division of Information Technology (DoIT) should schedule a service appointment for a copy or print machine. Along with how to order and recycle empty toner cartridges.

To Schedule a Service Appointment

Have the machine number available.

  • It is found on the Ricoh label on the front of the machine.
  • It is an 8-digit number and located near or above the UPC bar code on the label.

For example, this machine’s number is 13771686.

DoIT staff should email Kinho Lee (kinho.lee@wisc.edu), Business Support Consultant, DoIT Digital Publishing & Printing Services (DPPS).

In email include the following:

  • Machine number
  • Location of machine
  • Reason for request, describe service needed
  • Contact person and contact information for day of service appointment

Kinho will confirm receipt. And will initiate the scheduling process with Ricoh.

The Ricoh Tech Department will communicate with the contact person to schedule & confirm the date and time of the service appointment.

To Order Toner Cartridges

DoIT staff should call the 1-888 number posted on the front of the machine.

Have the machine number available.

  • It is found on the Ricoh label on the front of the machine.
  • It is an 8-digit number and located near or above the UPC bar code on the label.

For example, this machine’s number is 13771686.

All DoIT Ricoh machines are under a service contract and there is no charge to order toner.

If charged, please email Kinho Lee (kinho.lee@wisc.edu), Business Support Consultant, DoIT Digital Publishing & Printing Services (DPPS). Kinho will contact Ricoh to have the charges removed.

To Recycle Toner Cartridges

DoIT staff should take empty toner cartridges to the DoIT Onsite Help Desk located in Room 1154 of the Computer Sciences Building, located at 1210 W Dayton Street.

Staff should ask that the empty cartridges be placed where print jobs are picked up and dropped off by the DoIT Digital Publishing & Printing Services (DPPS) delivery driver on a daily basis.

The DPPS driver will collect the empty cartridges for recycling.
