Webex Events - How to Install the UW Branded Events App
The UW Events App provides conference attendees and presenters with up-to-date event information that improves attendee experience and drives better event ROI for conferences, internal events and more. This app is accessible from a mobile device, desktop, or tablet.
As part of the UW Events App, you will gain access to the following features if applicable for your event/conference:
- Conference agenda with customized scheduling
- Speaker bios
- Downloadable presentations and handouts
- Live event viewing
- Venue logistics
- Direct attendee messaging
- Gamification
- Networking tools
Download Instructions
Mobile Device Access:
- Navigate to the iOS App Store or Google Play Store on your mobile device. You may also navigate to the download page for the UW Events App
- Search "UW-Madison Events" and download the app
- Open the app and enter the email address or netID you used to register for the event.
- Note: UW-Madison employees and students select "UW-Madison NetID" OR “Continue with Webex” and enter your primary email address, NetID, and NetID password
- If you entered an email, create a password and click Sign Up
- Fill in your networking profile and click Continue. Your profile information will help you connect with other people during the event
- Browse for the conference or event you are attending or use the search bar to find it. Once you’ve found it, tap the event and select "Join". You’re in! Feel free to start exploring
Access on the Web
Desktop / Web App Access:
- Navigate to the link that your event organizer has provided you for the event/conference
- Open the app and enter the email address or netID you used to register for the event.
- Note: UW-Madison employees and students select "UW-Madison NetID" OR “Continue with Webex” and enter your primary email address, NetID, and NetID password
- If you entered an email, create a password and click Sign Up
- Fill in your networking profile and click Continue. Your profile information will help you connect with other people during the event
- You’re in! Feel free to start exploring
FAQs

I just logged into the UW Events App and I'm still seeing the last event I attended. How do I get to my new event I'm attending?
- If you've attended a previous event, you may still be logged into the old event.
- In the top left corner, select the Switch Event (Door icon) button and select Yes
- Scroll through the list of events or search the name of the event you're attending and select it

I'm not seeing the event I should be attending. What should I do?
- Verify you are using the UW Events App as shown at the beginning of this KB and NOT the Webex Events App
- Confirm with the Event Organizer that their event is being hosted using the UW Events App

Which sign in option should I use after launching the UW Events App?
- UW-Madison employees and students should use the "UW-Madison NetID" OR "Continue with Webex" option and enter your primary email address, NetID, and NetID password
- Users that are NOT UW-Madison employees or students should enter their email address that you registered with and create a profile

I just logged into UW Events and attempted to join my event I'm registered for, but I get a pop-up saying "Email Not Registered". What do I do?
- Update Profile - Select this option and update your email address to match the email address you used to register for the event
- Note - You can also add a registered email address to your profile as an additional account. ***It is recommended to use the same email account for everything.***
- Request Access - Select this option to send a request email to the event organizer
- Update Profile - Select this option and update your email address to match the email address you used to register for the event
