This documents helps users resolve where searches are unexpectedly redirected to Yahoo.

Edge

  1. Open Microsoft Edge.

  2. Click the three dots in the top-right corner.

  3. Select Settings from the dropdown menu.

  4. In the left menu, click Reset settings.

  5. Choose Restore settings to their default values.

  6. In the pop-up window, click Reset to confirm.

Safari (macOS)

Note: Safari does not have a full browser reset option like Chrome or Edge. For more information on what can be done to "reset" Safari, see Safari 10.0.1+ (Mac) - Clearing Cache and Cookies .

 3. Uninstall and Reinstall the Browser

If none of the above steps resolve the issue, try uninstalling and reinstalling Chrome or Edge. This can help remove persistent malware or corrupt settings.

4. Run an Antivirus Scan and Remove Suspicious Software

Use antivirus software or your computer’s built-in antivirus to scan for and remove malware or suspicious files. Be sure to check and remove unwanted browser extensions as well.

Note: Malware can pretend to be other software on your computer.  For example, if you find “McAfee” files on your device and you do not use McAfee, remove those files.
