"HOW TO" for the Citrix load balancer.

Disabling a server or server(s) from the load balancer:

  1. Log into the load balancer your server is behind using your NetID.

    • Links to the load balancers can be found here, click on the environment and then click on "SLB Management"
  2. Click the "Configuration" tab.
  3. Click the  "+" next to "Traffic Management" & "Load Balancing".
  4. Click "Servers". 
    • (Note: You may filter the server list by clicking "Find" to the top of the server list window.
  5. Right-Click on the server or servers (use CTRL to select multiple) and click "Disable"
  6. A pop-up menu will be displayed asking "Enter wait time in seconds to disable the selected servers.", this is how long you want the existing client connections to continue before closing the them down.
  7. Click "Save" in the upper right corner
  8. Done!


Disabling a server or server(s) for a specific service in the load balancer:

  1. Log into the load balancer your server is behind using your NetID.

    • Links to the load balancers can be found here, click on the environment and then click on "SLB Management"
  2. Click the "Configuration" tab.
  3. Click the  "+" next to "Traffic Management" & "Load Balancing".
  4. Click "Service Groups". 
    • (Note: You may filter the server list by clicking "Find" to the top of the server list window.
  5. Right-Click on the service group of interest and click "Manage Members"
  6. Select the members of interest.  (use CTRL to select multiple)
  7. A new page will be displayed asking "Enter wait time in seconds to disable the selected servers.", this is how long you want the existing client connections to continue before closing the them down.
  8. Click "Enter" &  then "Close"
  9. Click "Save" in the upper right corner
  10. Done!





Enabling a server or server(s) from the load balancer:

  6. Click "Save" in the upper right corner
  7. Done!

  7. A new page  will be displayed saying "Do you want to enable this?"  Click "Yes/No", then "Close"
  8. Click "Save" in the upper right corner
  9. Done!
