In Classic Quizzes, a paired observer can review quiz questions, results and details about their quiz. In New Quizzes, Observers can only see the final score a student receives. They cannot see what questions they missed or get any other details about the quiz.

Affects

This known issue only affects the paired observer role in Canvas.

Status

This issue is present as of July 2025. Instructure currently has no plans to fix this issue.

Workaround

If there are paired observers that need to see quiz details, one of the following must happen:

• The course’s instructor will need to use Classic Quizzes 

• Students will have to share the quiz details with the Observer directly
