KnowledgeBase (KB) Training

This document is the first in a series designed to help users learn how to effectively use the UW-Madison KnowledgeBase. It serves as a foundational resource that introduces key concepts, terminology, and functionality within the KnowledgeBase system, preparing users for more advanced topics covered in subsequent documents.

By presenting information in a structured learning sequence, the series helps users build knowledge progressively, reducing the learning curve and improving overall confidence when working with the platform.

As an introductory document, it provides context for how the KnowledgeBase supports the:

  • creation
  • organization
  • management
  • sharing

of information across your institution. It also helps establish best practices for content authors, editors, and administrators while familiarizing new users with essential features such as document management, topics, keywords, audiences, searching, and site navigation.

Following the series allows users to develop a comprehensive understanding of the KnowledgeBase, enabling them to create higher-quality content, manage information more efficiently, and make information easier for end users to find and use. Ultimately, this document acts as the starting point for successful KnowledgeBase adoption and serves as a roadmap to the tools, processes, and resources available within the KB system.
